dont listen to these people, we obviously dont like rpg's?, thats funny dude, really, i was playing the original star ocean on SNES(rom/emulator) when the japanese-english translation patch was only haveway done. every male character in the game has a damn good voice in my opinion, and reimi and myuria are good voice acting to. they obviously don't like RPG's, the voice acting is not as bad as people say it is either, sure in the very beginning of the game it's not that great, but if people actually played more than the first hour they would see the voice acting gets a hell of a lot better. dont listen to these people saying the cutscenes are terrible and whatever else.
Seriously man just get star ocean, never played sacred angel but since i've never really heard of it or heard of anybody that said it was a really good game, i cant see how it would be even remotely as good as star ocean.

What do you mean it doesnt compare?, its not like it or its not as good as star ocean?, ya star ocean's do have quite a few lengthy cutscenes in them, but this one i think goes kinda overboard on them, imo undiscovery is better since the battle targeting is definitly better, storyline is nothing great, but still good, and paced fairly well also, i do like the leveling/skills on star ocean a bit better tho i like the sp/upgradeing system they got, grinn velesti spamming does get kinda old after awhile, also on that other post i know you can skip them, thats what i plan on doing for the next 2 difficultie's, but i would like to get the storyline down, but like i said the point im at especailly there's been very little action in 1-2hours of play, (i got about 18 hours of gametime, and just unlocked the play as character for 2 hours in battle trophy, and ive pretty much only used 1 char so far) that by far is pretty sad :/, its like watching a movie instead of playing a game, but oh well, gonna try playing some more tonight, so hopefully it picks up some more
You do have the option to skip them and get a summary of what happened.in regards to your other comment, Undiscovery is a good game, but it doesn't compare in any way to Star Ocean. The voice acting and plot start getting better on disc 2.but long cut scenes have always been a part of Star Ocean. Not a whole lot better then star ocean, but definitly better. overall, the fighting can be fun, but thats only when you actaully get to do it, targeting/camera angles, bad, storyline so far is mediocore/alright, it does have a few funny parts, and there is quite a bit to do and explore, but if you havent gotten this game yet id recommend checking out Infinite Undiscovery, another game by tri-ace, very similiar to star ocean in alot of ways. The camera angles on the world/dungeon maps are pretty bad also. the targeting in the fights is not that great, kinda annoying trying to attack something thats attacking one of your teamates then all of a sudden running the other way towards a guy your still targeting for some reason that you cant even see. Alas, there's not much you can do, since this stretch is basically just a long winding catwalk.IGN gave a 8.0, which i would say is definitly overated, imo i would say its more of a 6-7maybe, like ign said the pacing is completly terrible, im reall starting to get pissed off doing like 20 minutes of fighting then an hour of cutscene's, and from what ive seen so far, there hasnt really been any real good one's. Along the way there are some mandatory fights, and the large robots especially are a bit more difficult than what you've been used to. Now you'll have to work your way around a very long, completely linear path. Once you clear them, grab the bow from the chest for Rei. You'll be ambushed as you enter the next area and have to fight six fights in a row. The next floor is even smaller, and loaded with niceties, like a vending machine, a heal point, and a chest of fresh sage. This floor is small and the way out is obvious. An event will trigger, and you'll meet your latest party member. If you choose the wrong answer for any of them, you can just try again.
Tell Rei you'll get them out of there, tell Lymle that you hope they'll listen, and tell Faize that being advanced is no excuse. You need to talk to everyone and choose the right answer.
